The story
Lintong lies in North Sumatra on the hills southwest of Lake Toba, near the town of Lintongnihuta in the Batak highlands. Like its neighbours it is farmed by smallholders who process with wet hulling, and the tight-grained beans that come off these volcanic slopes are among the most classic expressions of the Sumatra cup. Expect a full, almost syrupy body, very low acidity, and flavours that run from cedar and tobacco to sweet dark chocolate and a touch of tropical fruit. Lintong sits close to the Mandheling name that traders long used for premium North Sumatran coffee.
